David Holt has served as President of Consumer Energy Alliance since January 2006.
The Consumer Energy Alliance was formed to help support the thoughtful utilization of all domestic energy resources to improve domestic energy security and reduce consumer prices. The mission of the Consumer Energy Alliance is to improve consumer understanding of our nation’s energy security, including the need to reduce reliance on imported oil and natural gas, maintain reasonable energy prices for consumers, and continue efforts to diversify our energy resources.
Consumer Energy Alliance now has more than 200 consumer and energy organizations and more than 270,000 consumer advocates as part of its Alliance. Through its various activities, CEA works to continue to expand dialogue and develop joint messaging among the energy and consuming sectors.
David has more than 25 years of experience working for state and federal agencies and Congress, and directing outreach and advocacy efforts. Given his expertise David is sought to provide counsel and guidance to companies and government officials regarding issues related to energy security, exploration and production, advanced technologies, air quality and refining.
David is a Professor with Norway’s Bodø Graduate School of Business, Master of Science in Energy Management Program, in cooperation with the International Institute of Energy Policy & Diplomacy at the MGIMO University in Moscow, Russia. He serves as Co-Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership’s Energy Collaborative Strategy & Assessment Subcommittee. He is a member of the Texas Bar Association and Houston Bar Association.
David and his wife, Maureen, have three children.
