Congressional Review of Biden-Era Energy Regulations Promises Relief for American Consumers

WASHINGTON  – Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA), the leading energy and environmental advocate for families and small businesses, today applauded Congressional leaders and the House Rules Committee as they consider repealing three Biden Administration regulatory proposals under Congressional Review Act authority.

The three rules – including one that bans certain consumer appliances – harm consumer choice and will inevitably threaten affordable and reliable energy for families across the country.

“CEA supports any Congressional measures that aim to roll back some of the costly and redundant regulatory requirements the previous administration imposed without the input of our elected representatives,” CEA President David Holt said. “Rules banning household appliances that use clean natural gas in favor of more costly electric appliances only harm lower-income families who ultimately cannot afford the newest, top-of-the-line dishwashers, stoves, refrigerators, and washing machines the Biden Administration wanted to make them buy.”

“With the help of sensible policies in the new Congress, energy consumers will be given back the choice of which energy type they want to use, and how,” he said.

The House Rules Committee will review three rules under the Congressional Review Act:
