- Leasing program supports domestic energy security
WASHINGTON – Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA), the leading energy and environmental advocate for families and businesses, is pleased the Department of Interior has announced its 11th National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Program. This new five-year program will ensure that Americans continue to be provided with affordable and reliable energy derived from sustainable, offshore development.
“CEA is thrilled to learn that the Trump Administration and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum are making good on promises to unleash American energy,” CEA Vice President Katie Hammons said. “The five-year leasing program is a vital component of America’s energy production. Outer Continental Shelf energy production, particularly oil and gas derived from the Gulf of America, is amongst the cleanest in the world. Continued lease sales will deliver affordable and reliable energy to Americans for decades to come.”
