A recent Consumer Energy Alliance analysis found that Americans would have paid $137.4 billion more for home heating and energy bills this winter if plans to mandate the use of electricity for heating, cooling and cooking went forward. Unfortunately, this misguided policy is being promoted in New Jersey, and CEA Mid-Atlantic Executive Director Mike Butler looks at what this would mean for New Jerseyans.
Electrification would mean replacing over 200 million home appliances that use natural gas, including furnaces, stoves, water heaters and clothes dryers.
