- Wind Generation Permit and Property Protection Act
In 2019, Representative Randy Garber introduced HB 2273 which would change state law to ensure wind turbines were at least 1.5 miles from any residential property or public building and 3 miles from any airport, local, state or federal wildlife refuge, public hunting area or public park. This legislation died in committee.
Over 90 percent of renewable energy generated in Indiana comes from wind power.
The two largest wind farms in the Midwest – Meadow Lake and Fowler Ridge – are located in Indiana.
