Initiative 97 – which will appear as Proposition 112 on the ballot – would move the minimum setback for oil and gas wells from 500 feet for homes and 1,000 feet for schools to 2,500 feet for both. If it is passes, Colorado could lose $218 billion dollars in gross domestic product.
It also could lose 147,000 jobs, almost equal to the population of Ft. Collins, Lakewood or Centennial. Can you imagine a whole city’s worth of jobs just disappearing?
