National Database to Monitor Attacks on Energy Infrastructure

Energy industry leaders have increased focus on defending infrastructure as protesters target energy infrastructure, such as oil and gas pipelines, with acts of vandalism a sabotage.   These irresponsible actions not only place American lives at risk, but they can also cause widespread disruptions across our economy depending on the scope.

The Energy Equipment and Infrastructure Alliance announced the database through its affiliated Energy Builders coalition Wednesday, two days after a bipartisan group of 84 members of Congress sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions expressing concern about recent incidents and asking if existing laws are enough to adequately prosecute acts that are criminal.
