Tim Page, CEA Southeast’s Executive Director recently commented on the recent plan to expand offshore energy exploration in the Atlantic.

We need to do find better ways to help residents keep the lights on, the home warm and the gas tank full more affordably – and in more environmentally-friendly ways. Expanded offshore development can do that. In fact, the U.S. Department of the Interior says not having a Mid- or South-Atlantic lease sale could result in up to $3 billion in incremental environmental and social costs, with the U.S. turning to imports to replace nearly 60 percent of the lost production.
