As Arizonans see gas prices moderate for the first time in months, Consumer Energy Alliance looks at the summer travel season and how consumers can continue to cope with historically high prices.

The main reasons are lower demand and higher supply. We checked with the Consumer Energy Alliance, which expects prices to continue to trickle down, possibly into winter. For now, we aren’t driving as much as expected – possibly because consumers have hit a spending limit with inflation. Seventy-one million people are expected to travel for the Fourth of July, and this is expected to be an active hurricane season, so both of those factors could affect supply and demand.
