Consumer Energy Alliance Names Leading Energy Industry Advocacy Executive Jeff Ostermayer as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications

HOUSTONConsumer Energy Alliance (CEA), the leading energy and environmental advocate for families and businesses, today announced the appointment of Jeff Ostermayer as Senior Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications.

Ostermayer brings two decade years of strategic communications and public affairs leadership, much of it focused on energy. He most recently served as Managing Director of Public Affairs at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI). At CEA, Ostermayer will oversee the development and execution of integrated communications strategies and direct advocacy campaigns.

“Jeff’s deep expertise in energy communications and proven track record of building successful advocacy campaigns make him an exceptional addition to our team,” CEA President David Holt said. “His experience leading persuasive campaigns to educate stakeholders on energy and electricity issues will bolster CEA’s effectiveness across the country promiting initiatives that balance economic growth with energy affordability and reliability.”

Prior to joining CEA, Ostermayer served as Managing Director of Public Affairs at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), where he led public affairs and grassroots advocacy initiatives for the association representing all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Jeff has extensive campaign experience helping to lead efforts to defeat local ballot measures on utility government takeovers and leading multiple campaigns across the country on critical issues impacting electricity customers.

Ostermayer’s career also includes a stint at NextEra Energy’s Florida Power & Light Company in corporate communications. Earlier, Ostermayer held roles at the National Association of Manufacturers, in the U.S. House of Representatives with Representatives Mark Foley and Tom Rooney. Ostermayer helped lead Rep. Rooney’s first successful campaign for the U.S. House. Under the George W. Bush Administration, Ostermayer served as Assistant Press Secretary at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Ostermayer holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University. He is a graduate and active member of Leadership Florida. He is based in West Palm Beach, Florida.
