- Tax Exemption Removal for New Wind Turbines
With Wyoming facing a budget deficit of roughly $225 million legislators are reviewing tax incentives and may remove a tax exemption on electricity generation that applies to new wind energy projects in their first three years of existence.
The first wind turbine in Wyoming was constructed in Medicine Bow in 1982 by NASA and the U.S. Department of Energy.
The Chokecherry and Sierra Madre Wind Energy Project is the largest wind generation facility under development in North America.
