The Energy Information Administration says the U.S. is set to replace Russia as the world’s top crude oil producer late next year, with an expected 12 million barrels per day of production. This is uncharted – but welcoming – territory for the U.S. And for 50-plus years, we imported much of it, relying heavily on foreign oil to fuel our motorists.
