TAMPA, FL – Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA) Mid-Atlantic Executive Director Chris Ventura will join international maritime and energy leaders to discuss America’s crucial role in global energy security at the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Port Opportunities with Energy, Resilience, and Sustainability (POWERS) Summit in Tampa, January 20-22.
Ventura will participate in the main stage panel “Powering the World: Shipping U.S. Energy Internationally,” which comes at a pivotal moment as the Biden Administration’s recent pause on LNG export approvals raises questions about America’s energy export future. The discussion gains additional significance following reports that Donald Trump plans to reverse this policy after being sworn into office next week.
“At a time when our allies are seeking reliable energy sources, America’s ports play a vital role in delivering U.S. energy to global markets,” said Ventura. “The current uncertainty around LNG export policies directly impacts our ability to support energy security for our international partners.”
The panel will explore:
1. Current trends in U.S. energy exports
2. Impact of policy decisions on energy exports and America’s ports
3. Support for international allies’ energy security
