HOUSTONConsumer Energy Alliance (CEA) is proud to announce the appointment of Maddie Milam as Senior Director, State Affairs. In this critical role, Milam will lead CEA’s state-level government affairs activities in the Midwest, focusing on energy policy, utility regulation, permitting, and infrastructure advocacy that benefits American families and businesses.

Milam brings extensive experience in state government affairs and policy to her new position. She will spearhead strategic engagement with policymakers, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders while managing state operations for CEA in the Midwest. Her responsibilities will include advising on legislative and regulatory developments, building coalitions, and implementing advocacy strategies that advance innovation, infrastructure investment, and sustainable growth.

“We are thrilled to have Maddie join our organization during such a crucial time in the national discussion around affordable, reliable energy,” CEA President David Holt said. “Her understanding of state and local engagement, as well as political strategy, will be integral as we continue to advocate for affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy choices for families and businesses nationwide.”

Prior to joining CEA, Milam worked at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), where she represented investor-owned electric companies before national organizations and played a key role in building bipartisan coalitions, designing grassroots advocacy strategies, and advised companies on policy and regulatory trends across the country. Before her work at EEI, Milam served as Director of Member Initiatives at the National Republican Congressional Committee, while holding senior operations roles in the U.S. House of Representatives, including with Speaker John Boehner.

“I’m excited to join CEA and contribute to its essential mission of advocating for sensible energy policies that benefit American families and businesses,” Milam said. “CEA’s commitment to supporting energy innovation while ensuring affordability and reliability aligns perfectly with my passion for advancing pragmatic solutions to our nation’s energy challenges.”

Milam holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History from the University of Mississippi and has completed executive education programs at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. Based in Nashville, Milam remains active in several professional organizations, including the Mideast Labor and Management Public Affairs Committee.
