In November 2020, Governor John Bel Edwards announced a renewable energy initiative for the Gulf of Mexico, with plans to harness Louisiana’s strengths in offshore energy production for the development of wind power.
The NASA Michoud campus outside of New Orleans houses a technology center to design and test wind turbine blades.
Louisiana is home to 9 companies and 10 facilities that are involved in the full value chain of the wind energy industry.
