The New Jersey Senate is reconsidering legislation, S2180, that will encourage wind energy development at Portfield Initiative sites designated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
New Jersey is building the country’s first port dedicated to assembling offshore turbines for the Eastern Seaboard.
On August 19, 2010, Governor Christie signed the Offshore Wind Economic Development Act, to encourage renewable wind energy generation.
