Maryland known for the Chesapeake Bay, blue crabs, and as the birthplace of the U.S. National Anthem is making waves in the solar energy industry Although small in size, the Maryland is keeping up with some of its bigger competitors ranking as the 13th highest solar producing state in the nation. Maryland has recently proposed and implemented legislation geared towards the increase in solar energy production in the state.  Expect to see Maryland make significant advances in its solar energy production and incentives programs with forward-thinking policies and initiatives.

  • Maryland Clean Energy Jobs Act
    The Maryland General Assembly is looking to double its commitment to carbon-free energy in 2019 with HB 1453: Clean Energy Jobs Act of 2018. Although a majority of this energy would come form wind, a minimum percentage must come from solar as well with the passage of the bill.
  • Maryland Opens Parking Lot Solar Canopy with EV Charger Grant Program
    The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) recently opened its Parking Lot Solar PV Canopy with EV Charger Grant Program. This program is intended to address Maryland’s solar goals. The two areas of interest in this program are business and non-profits, and state agencies and local governments.
