Minnesota

The ‘Land of 10,000 Lakes’ is a sunny state, surprisingly even in below freezing temperatures. In 2017, Minnesota became one of the first states to experiment with community solar and currently has over 162 companies within the solar energy industry. This suggests that in such a wide competition field, consumer energy prices are flexible and affordable. Recently, new community solar networks have come online producing enough power to power almost 7,000 homes.
