- Sonic Drive-In Fast Food Restaurants Say OK to Solar
Sonic is known for it’s onion rings, slushes, and corndogs. However, a Sonic in Oklahoma City is now known for something else. The franchise owner has installed 200 feet of solar panels along the top of the 20 drive-in stalls of the Sonic located in NW Oklahoma City. It’s suspected that other locations will begin to follow suit in the future.
Oklahoma ranks 39th out of all states for solar energy jobs available to residents.
This year, (2018) OGE Energy and SunPower completed a solar plant in Covington that will power the lives of 1,000 families in the Sooner State.
