- Valuation of Wind Energy Systems
As communities evaluate the construction of wind farms, Michigan’s State Tax Commission has continually revised how wind projects are valued. Senate Bill 46, introduced by Sen. VanderWall is one attempt to bring certainty to assessments in communities across Michigan.
Generating over 1,900 MW of power, Michigan is home to 25 utility scale wind projects.
Michigan’s first commercial wind turbine was built in 1996 and the state’s first wind farm opened in 2007.
